Tuesdays and Thursdays starting January 14 - March 6 Description: Welcome to our Middle School Book Club, where books come to life and stories bring us together! Whether you’re a bookworm, an adventurer at heart, or just curious about reading, this is the club for you. Join us for lively chats about our favorite books, explore new genres, and get creative with bookish activities. From mysteries and fantasy to graphic novels and poetry, there’s something for everyone. Limit: 30 students

Instructor: Mr. Ben Doeden Meets - Middle School Weight Room. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting January 14 - March 6th Description - Grades 5 -8. At the Fitness & Weightlifting Club, the students will have the opportunity to use the workout room at the Middle School in a structured and guided manner. The students will have workout plans that they will complete with their classmates, all the while tracking their progress and development. The students will learn many different age-appropriate lifts and exercises, and most importantly get a great workout! Limit: 30 students

Brown County Human Services guidelines suggest that children ages 8-10 can stay home alone for up to three hours at a time. This class for parents and their children in grades 2-4 is an introduction to staying home alone. Staying home alone for the first time is an opportunity eagerly anticipated by most kids; yet with opportunity comes responsibility. Parents and children will have the opportunity to talk with each other about questions and expectations about staying home alone. Topics include but are not limited to: developing expectations, sibling conflict, healthy choices, problem-solving, and identifying emergencies.

Instructor- Mr. Sam Johnson and Mr. Miles Wangensteen Meets- Middle School Room 114. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting January 14 - March 6th. Description- Grades 5-8. Magic: The Gathering Club (MTG Club) provides a space for playing the most popular trading card game in the world! Magic: The Gathering is a game where players craft their own decks from tens of thousands of available cards and use those decks to fight other players in games of strategy, guile, and tactics. Build your deck around a theme (like Zombies, Dragons, Vampires, or Elves), or build a deck to be as streamlined and competitive as possible to challenge your opponents and have a chance at a club tournament championship! MTG Club does not require cards to join, though, as there are several club decks available for new players (or old players looking for something different). New players can also look forward to learning the game from scratch -- no prior knowledge is required! This trimester’s club will bring a club tournament, with a prize for the winners! Dozens of students have gone from zero to hero in the past -- will you be the next? Limit: 30 students

July 7th-11th, 2025 Order! Order in the courtroom! Today, we will be hearing the case of the Bear Family against one Goldilocks. But the question is, will it be a fair trial? Join us in this thrilling whodunnit to figure out who exactly broke into the Bear Family’s home, ate their porridge, sat in all their chairs, and slept in their beds!Children, seven years and older will have the opportunity to audition for a part in this original musical production Rapunzel! Upon registration your child is automatically accepted into the cast—no acting experience is necessary. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the New Ulm High School Theater. Auditions for specific parts will take place Monday, July 7th from 8:00am to 10:00pm, with rehearsal following 10:00am-12:15pm. In general, rehearsal times will fall between 8:00am and 12:15pm. Monday through Thursday, Rehearsal times may vary by the part your child gets, so flexibility for pick-up/drop-off times is needed. Bring a snack and water bottle to each session! On Friday, rehearsal will begin late afternoon and will last right up to show time. Performances are Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. You must attend ALL rehearsals and all costumes, music, and scenery are provided and are included in the $25 registration fee. Ticket for the performance can be purchased at the door right before the performance and prices are as follows: Adult—$5.00 Students K-12—$3.00 Pre-School & Under—Free
