    New Ulm Athlete Summer Speed and Strength ProgramSUMMER 2024 Description: The Summer Strength and Conditioning program is an enrichment opportunity for New Ulm athletes to train during the summer months. Our program is a comprehensive approach to training that addresses many of the components involved in achieving optimal athletic performance.Primary Goals: *Reduce the likelihood and severity of injury. *Stimulate positive physiological growth. *Improve confidence and mental toughness. *Improve athletic performance by improving strength, power, speed, agility, functional range of motion, and rest & recovery.   • Peaceful Parenting Classes

    Instructor: Erin Miller, Certified Community Health Worker Open to parents/caregivers of children of ANY age. A FREE 90 minute weekly class focusing on stress reduction, positive parenting techniques, and fellowship among parents. This class will offer six weeks of the Love in Logic curriculum and six weeks of the Learning to Breathe curriculum. Each class will have independent registration. The class will be held every Wednesday from 6-7:30pm at Washington Learning Center. A meal and childcare are provided for each session. Love and Logic: An unparalleled solution to build healthy relationships with kids while setting firm,loving limits that turn problem behaviors around. Living Life to the Full: This class covers low mood, stress, and resilience. Work out why you feel as you do, how to tackle problems, build confidence, get going again, feel happier, stay calm, tackle upsetting thinking and more. Our courses are free for individuals using them in their own lives. Learning to Breathe: Learning to BREATHE is a mindfulness-based curriculum created for classroom or group settings. Mindfulness is the practice of becoming aware of one’s present-moment experience with compassion and openness as a basis for wise action. This curriculum is intended to strengthen attention and emotion regulation, cultivate wholesome emotions like gratitude and compassion, expand the repertoire of stress management skills, and help participants integrate mindfulness into daily life. The classes will recur in six week increments throughout the year. All are welcome, but if you have health insurance, we ask that you bring your card. You will not be billed for this service.     July 8th-12th, 2024 Welcome to the Kingdom of Crescendo, a musical place to live! You’ve arrived just in time for the Mourning of the Lost Voice, King and Queen Coda’s daughter Rapunzel was stolen away by the Evil Witch long ago, and Crescendo has never been he same since. When King and Queen Coda develop a taste of a magical fruit, Bradley Baker must save the day! Alongside Bart and Bard, he travels into the woods to find the sought-after berries. Along the way they meet Unicorns but also meet some rock-obsessed Witches in Training and the awfully noisy Punk Rocks. Will our heroes be able to discover Rapunzel’s true identity and return her to Crescendo? Children, seven years and older will have the opportunity to audition for a part in this original musical production Rapunzel! Upon registration your child is automatically accepted into the cast—no acting experience is necessary. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the New Ulm High School Theater. Auditions for specific parts will take place Monday, July 8th from 8:00am to 10:00pm, with rehearsal following 10:00am-12:15pm. In general, rehearsal times will fall between 8:00am and 12:15pm. Monday through Thursday, Rehearsal times may vary by the part your child gets, so flexibility for pick-up/drop-off times is needed. Bring a snack and water bottle to each session! On Friday, rehearsal will begin late afternoon and will last right up to show time. Performances are Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. You must attend ALL rehearsals and all costumes, music, and scenery are provided and are included in the $25 registration fee. Ticket for the performance can be purchased at the door right before the performance and prices are as follows: Adult—$5.00 Students K-12—$3.00 Pre-School & Under—Free
