  • Acrylic Painting For Kids!

    We will use a 16 x 20 canvas and all paint; brushes and materials will be provided to complete a painting using acrylic paint. I will teach basic painting methods, some shortcuts, and blending colors. Everyone will get individual attention during the classes.
  • After School- High School Game Club

    Instructor- Matthew Nelson Meets-Room #121. Tuesdays November 4 - April 28 from 3:30pm-5:00pm. If there is no school on a Tuesday, club will not be held that day. Description- Grades- 9-12. The New Ulm Game Club is simply a place for students to come and relax after a long day at school, while supplying them with thought provoking games to play. It is a casual environment. Students are welcome to bring any kind of physical board or card game to play with others and enjoy the challenge of the games. The Dork Den in Mankato is also supporting the New Ulm Game Club; they will be supplying the club with a fresh variety of games to borrow for the week.
  • Cookie Decorating Class for Kids!

    Local cookier Sammy’s Sweets will teach participants how to use a variety of royal icing techniques to make cookie masterpieces!
  • Fitness & Weight Lifting After School Club (Spring)

    Instructor: Mr. Ben Doeden Meets - Middle School Weight Room. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 25 - May 15, 3:30-4:30 Description - Grades 5 -8. At the Fitness & Weightlifting Club, the students will have the opportunity to use the workout room at the Middle School in a structured and guided manner. The students will have workout plans that they will complete with their classmates, all the while tracking their progress and development. The students will learn many different age-appropriate lifts and exercises, and most importantly get a great workout! Limit: 30 students
  • Home Alone Level 2 - Intermediate

    Brown County Human Services guidelines suggest that children ages 8-10 can stay home alone for up to three hours at a time and that children ages 11-13 can stay home alone up to twelve hours. This class is for students in grades 4-6 and builds upon the parent/child level 1 class. Staying home alone for the first time is an opportunity eagerly anticipated by most kids; yet with opportunity comes responsibility. The class will cover the basics of staying home alone including but not limited to: appliance safety, responsibility, house rules, first aid, storm warnings, fire escape plans, and more. This is an interactive class where students have the opportunity to ask questions as they arise. Parents will be able to have follow-up conversations with their students by reviewing take-home materials together after class.

    Kids will be doing several hands-on experiments using household items to create a volcano and more. Come join in on the fun and excitement of science! Dress for a mess!
  • Magic the Gathering After School Club (Spring)

    Instructor- Mr. Sam Johnson and Mr. Wangensteen Meets- Middle School Room 117. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 25 - May 15, 3:30-4:30 Description- Grades 5-8. Magic: The Gathering Club (MTG Club) provides a space for playing the most popular trading card game in the world! Magic: The Gathering is a game where players craft their own decks from tens of thousands of available cards and use those decks to fight other players in games of strategy, guile, and tactics. Build your deck around a theme (like Zombies, Dragons, Vampires, or Elves), or build a deck to be as streamlined and competitive as possible to challenge your opponents and have a chance at a club tournament championship! MTG Club does not require cards to join, though, as there are several club decks available for new players (or old players looking for something different). New players can also look forward to learning the game from scratch -- no prior knowledge is required! Dozens of students have gone from zero to hero in the past -- will you be the next?
  • Sign Language Club (Spring)

    Instructor- Mrs. Michelle Gag Meets- MS Room 215. Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 25 - May 15, 3:30-4:30 Description- Grades 5-8. Learn the basics of sign language! You will learn how facial expressions play a big role in sign language. We will also learn the alphabet (the ABCs) in sign language and practice spelling words with your fingers. To make it fun, we’ll do some activities that will help you remember the signs and use them!
  • Storybook Theatre presents: Goldilocks & The Three Bears!

    July 7th-11th, 2025 Order! Order in the courtroom! Today, we will be hearing the case of the Bear Family against one Goldilocks. But the question is, will it be a fair trial? Join us in this thrilling whodunnit to figure out who exactly broke into the Bear Family’s home, ate their porridge, sat in all their chairs, and slept in their beds!Children, seven years and older will have the opportunity to audition for a part in this original musical production Rapunzel! Upon registration your child is automatically accepted into the cast—no acting experience is necessary. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the New Ulm High School Theater. Auditions for specific parts will take place Monday, July 7th from 8:00am to 10:00pm, with rehearsal following 10:00am-12:15pm. In general, rehearsal times will fall between 8:00am and 12:15pm. Monday through Thursday, Rehearsal times may vary by the part your child gets, so flexibility for pick-up/drop-off times is needed. Bring a snack and water bottle to each session! On Friday, rehearsal will begin late afternoon and will last right up to show time. Performances are Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. You must attend ALL rehearsals and all costumes, music, and scenery are provided and are included in the $25 registration fee. Ticket for the performance can be purchased at the door right before the performance and prices are as follows: Adult—$5.00 Students K-12—$3.00 Pre-School & Under—Free
