    Canvas Creations! Entering grades 2-8 You will have fun painting with your friends. Start with a blank canvas and acrylic paints and learn the basics about brush strokes, mixing paint, and basic painting techniques. This will be an enjoyable time to paint with friends! You will bring home three creations at the end of class. Display them as stand-alone or as companion pieces. All materials are supplied. Aprons are available, but we suggest that you dress accordingly as acrylic paints do not wash out of clothes.   • Girls Summer Junior Eagles Basketball Camp

    Junior Eagles Basketball Camp (for girls entering 3rd-5th grades and 6th-8th grades) Over 3 days this camp will emphasize the basic skills of basketball for our younger Eagles. Varsity players and coaches will work with the campers both individually and in small groups. The camp consists of fundamental stations (shooting, passing, rebounding & defense), contests and, 3 on 3 games. All campers will get a t-shirt or a reversible jersey. Staying home alone for the first time is an opportunity eagerly anticipated by most kids; yet with opportunity comes responsibility. Parents and children will have the opportunity to talk with each other about questions and expectations around staying home alone. Topics include but are not limited to: developing expectations, sibling conflict, healthy choices, problem-solving, and identifying emergencies. **If this class fills, the class will be repeated on Wed, May 22 (6:00-7:30 PM)**

    Brown County Human Services guidelines suggest that children ages 8-10 can stay home alone for up to three hours at a time and that children ages 11-13 can stay home alone up to twelve hours. This class is for students in grades 4-6 and builds upon the parent/child level 1 class. Staying home alone for the first time is an opportunity eagerly anticipated by most kids; yet with opportunity comes responsibility. The class will cover the basics of staying home alone including but not limited to: appliance safety, responsibility, house rules, first aid, storm warnings, fire escape plans, and more. This is an interactive class where students have the opportunity to ask questions as they arise. Parents will be able to have follow-up conversations with their students by reviewing take-home materials together after class.

    Lego Design 1Entering grades 1-3 Your child will learn science and math concepts while working with materials from the Lego Educational Division. Children will learn how to use levers, pulleys, and gears in order to build projects such as carousels, drawbridge, and conveyor belts. This class offers great hands-on learning opportunities for the beginner. This course will expand your child’s knowledge of science and math concepts such as levers, pulleys, and gears. Your child will gain confidence in his/her ability to understand how simple machines work. (S)he will build projects including a crane, catapult, and race car.     Lego Design 2 Entering grades 4-8 This class will focus on building Lego Vehicles with Lego Technic elements from the Lego Educational Division. Your child will gain an understanding of how wheels, axles, levers, and gears work together to make vehicles move. The children will have the opportunity to hook up a motor and a battery to their vehicles and race! Using some of the math and science concepts learned in school and in this class, your child will build Battlebots out of Lego materials from the Lego Educational Division. (S)he will be working with a team to create vehicles that will compete in the battle ring! Your child will learn about torque, tension, force, friction, and compound gearing. Bring your imagination and your competitive spirit, this class is high-speed fun!     July 8th-12th, 2024 Welcome to the Kingdom of Crescendo, a musical place to live! You’ve arrived just in time for the Mourning of the Lost Voice, King and Queen Coda’s daughter Rapunzel was stolen away by the Evil Witch long ago, and Crescendo has never been he same since. When King and Queen Coda develop a taste of a magical fruit, Bradley Baker must save the day! Alongside Bart and Bard, he travels into the woods to find the sought-after berries. Along the way they meet Unicorns but also meet some rock-obsessed Witches in Training and the awfully noisy Punk Rocks. Will our heroes be able to discover Rapunzel’s true identity and return her to Crescendo? Children, seven years and older will have the opportunity to audition for a part in this original musical production Rapunzel! Upon registration your child is automatically accepted into the cast—no acting experience is necessary. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the New Ulm High School Theater. Auditions for specific parts will take place Monday, July 8th from 8:00am to 10:00pm, with rehearsal following 10:00am-12:15pm. In general, rehearsal times will fall between 8:00am and 12:15pm. Monday through Thursday, Rehearsal times may vary by the part your child gets, so flexibility for pick-up/drop-off times is needed. Bring a snack and water bottle to each session! On Friday, rehearsal will begin late afternoon and will last right up to show time. Performances are Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. You must attend ALL rehearsals and all costumes, music, and scenery are provided and are included in the $25 registration fee. Ticket for the performance can be purchased at the door right before the performance and prices are as follows: Adult—$5.00 Students K-12—$3.00 Pre-School & Under—Free

    Description: This non-certification class will allow anyone to learn the core skills of CPR. Participants will learn how to use an AED, develop the skills for choking relief, and will learn how to recognize an emergency. These various skills will focus on care for an Adult, Child, and Infant. Great for youth who have more independence during the summer, for those watching their siblings, or for anyone who just wants to know how to react in an emergency situation! This class is for anyone who wants to learn basic CPR skills, choking relief, and AED awareness.
  • Youth Focused First Aid Training 

    Description: This class will help anyone develop the basic skills necessary to manage a first-aid situation. Students learn the duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers and first aid actions needed for common medical and environmental emergencies. A few examples of the skills learned include caring for choking, minor cuts and bruises, broken bones and sprains, sunburn, heat/cold-related emergencies, allergic reactions, animal bites, and stings. The class will also discuss how and when to make a 911 call.
